The Jordaan has its own chocolate gems, but it's worth knowing that a 10–15 minute canal walk south brings you to one of Amsterdam's best handmade chocolatiers. Leidsestraat 87, just south of Leidsegracht.
Walking directions: From the southern edge of the Jordaan, walk along Prinsengracht or Keizersgracht, cross Leidsegracht and turn onto Leidsestraat. Number 87, on the right.
Most regulars who come from the Jordaan walk down Prinsengracht, stop at one of the smaller cafés on Lijnbaansgracht, then cross to Leidsestraat. A round trip works in under an hour.
Our single-origin Tanzania bar is a Jordaan-regular favourite — dark, smoky, less sweet. Pairs with a Belgian beer or a strong coffee from Café Soundgarden.
