Vondelpark is Amsterdam's living room. The shops nearby lean toward boutique pastries and coffee — but if you want real chocolate, a 10-minute walk takes you to three of the best ateliers in the city centre.
Leave the park via the eastern gate, follow Leidsestraat. Around 10 minutes. Handmade truffles, single-origin bars, open until 22:00 so you can come after sunset.
12 minutes from the park. Tearoom seating, old-Amsterdam atmosphere.
Pick up a single-origin bar and a small box of bonbons at Amsterdam Chocolate Factory, walk back into the park, find a bench by the pond. Madagascar 70% holds up well outdoors in cool weather.
Not inside the park itself. The closest handmade chocolate shop is Amsterdam Chocolate Factory on Leidsestraat 87, about a 10-minute walk from the park's east gate.
