Walking directions: From the Anne Frank House, walk south along Prinsengracht, then cut through Leidsegracht to Leidsestraat. We're at number 87.
Follow Prinsengracht south from the museum, past the Westerkerk and through the Negen Straatjes. Turn onto Leidsegracht, then onto Leidsestraat. The whole walk is along canals — one of Amsterdam's prettiest routes.
Unlike most central chocolate shops, we never queue out the door. The interior is built for slowness — wood, brass, low light, the smell of cocoa. Take 15 minutes, taste two single-origin bars, choose a small box.
