Where to Find Handmade Chocolate After the Anne Frank House

The Anne Frank House is an intense visit. Many people want a quiet stop afterwards — somewhere unhurried, with no queue. Amsterdam Chocolate Factory on Leidsestraat 87 is a 15-minute walk south along the canals, in a slow, low-lit interior designed exactly for that.

Walking directions: From the Anne Frank House, walk south along Prinsengracht, then cut through Leidsegracht to Leidsestraat. We're at number 87.

The canal walk

Follow Prinsengracht south from the museum, past the Westerkerk and through the Negen Straatjes. Turn onto Leidsegracht, then onto Leidsestraat. The whole walk is along canals — one of Amsterdam's prettiest routes.

A quiet stop, not a tourist queue

Unlike most central chocolate shops, we never queue out the door. The interior is built for slowness — wood, brass, low light, the smell of cocoa. Take 15 minutes, taste two single-origin bars, choose a small box.

How far is the chocolate shop from the Anne Frank House?

About 15 minutes on foot — a 1.2 km walk along Prinsengracht and through the Negen Straatjes to Leidsestraat 87.
